Question @ IMF Leadership

It is really shameful that the IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been accused of assaulting a maid in a luxury New York City hotel. He has been denied a bail and has been sent to a jail. This act has sent shock-waves throughout the world. He was a man who was in charge of overseeing the world economy and was tipped to be France’s next President. His arrest and subsequent jail is also extremely embarrassing for the IMF. Apart from dealing with a leadership crisis the IMF is now facing serious questions about whether it let Strauss-Kahn off too lightly in 2008 after he was caught in an extra-marital affair with an economist who was his subordinate. There are persistent rumors afloat inside the IMF that he often made unwanted sexual advances to other women during his tenure with IMF.

Why is it that many nationally and internationally reputed leaders are involved in sex scandals? We have been witnessing many such cases. It is found that many leaders have unfulfilled sexual life and their unfulfilled sexual desires have led to many kinds of perversions. It seems an unfulfilled sex life has something to do with stress, and the stressed life also has something to do with unfulfilled sex life. They seem to have some intricate connection. All the repressions and suppressions of emotions eventually surface in some kind of psychosomatic diseases. And the true art of expression is never going to be possible unless all kinds of suppressions and repressions are dissolved. The contentment of sex is a prerequisite for a better leadership and inspiring leadership. Leadership is a far bigger responsibility. It is a far bigger vision. It is the greatest art of leading a team and leading a nation. It is a right action for the betterment of the nation and also for the betterment of the people. Peter Drucker, the Management Guru, says, “Leadership means doing right things”.

Lust and love are in some way intricately connected. Love in its lover form is called sex, and sex in its higher form is called love. It is the same energy and it can be transformed. And the same love can be further transformed into compassion. We can move from lust to love, and we can also move from sex to supreme consciousness. Enlightened Leadership aims towards creating bliss, love, and compassion. It is aiming towards awakening one’s consciousness and awareness, and leading with love and compassion. The lowest form of the energy is at the “Muladhara” (Root Chakra) and the highest form of the same energy is at the “Sahasrara” (Crown Chakra). And the whole art of moving this energy from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra is called the “Kundalini Yoga.
